Two of my most appreciated hobbies combined to create a musical project I want to share. And with this project, I want to express my own musical vision of the infinite number of objects that exist in the Universe, In Space.
“Music is more than you expect it to be. It is a state of mind. A statement.
A position. Don’t let others tell you where to stand, take a stand yourself. Life your dreams and fight for your beliefs. You are the mainstream!”

Digital Rhythm Collective
Past meets Future
The Digital Rhythm Collective combines retro-style electrowave music with a very NOW sound. With a professionel background in composition and members that are in the business of electronic music for over 20 years, DRC was inspired by various trends in electronic music that have emerged over the past decades. Though being located in Germany’s capital of electronic music, Frankfurt, the Digital Rhythm Collective is not trying to imitate other artists, but to bring a very personal style to electronic music. So go the ethics behind A23P.
Alien Nesby (of 23) is the man behind A23P. The idea behind the A23P project, had it’s roots in the initial 23 sound that had carried through the mid 90s to start of the 2000s and had focused mainly on various forms of “acid” dance forms; with a special focus on house and techno. During this time period, Alien had elected to follow the lines as such artist as Prototype 909 and conduct all live p.a.’s in a spontaneous manner; simply making up and controlling the music as a performance progressed.
Though 23 would come to divert from an “acid” focus, Alien maintained an interest in not just the acid sound, but a musical outlet based around spontaneity; a means by which the artist expressed the self through a raw form with no chance for studio production tricks and like to polish up what was generated. A23P would come to be the avenue by which this was carried out.
Though live improved performances would be the focus of A23P, there would be a small handful of times that studio work regarding the project would take place. A four track EP simply titled A23P would be released in 2002; with a small handful of other studio tracks cropping up in following years.

Early June, 1975, Rob J was spawned in the burbs of Detroit. His musical appetite was fed an eclectic mix of early electronic, disco and psychedelia.
With a bright mind and an interest in the chemical processes of everyday life, Rob went on to college gaining a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Loyola University Chicago. Soon after, he landed a biotech position at a major pharmaceutical company.
With the accessibility of music production, and heavily influenced by the sounds of his work environment, Rob decided to take a stab music production.
Rob chose the moniker of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) and started composing ambient soundscapes using samples from pharmaceutical manufacturing. His dual Gemini nature was not content, though, as he produced erotic downtempo and house music under 13th Halo.
After 3 years of production, Rob has adopted the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) name for all future productions and is establishing himself as an elite producer of Minimal House and Techno.
Entertaining, excellent work. Reminiscent of Luke Vibert, a kind of Ninjatune vibe. There is a bright, glistening feel held down in the outdoor basketball court of your lockgroove beats… and it’s not Earth-based. I’m sure Coldcut or De la Soul would be proud of your eroticism-infused hip chunk funk. Overall it’s nice to have access to some glow-in-the-dark beats.
The Bio-Industrial Ambient puts you in a Silent Hill game. Creepy.
